I know there’s a certain irony in calling this post smile when I’m not smiling at all. It could have been called Resting Bitch Face and perhaps made a bit more sense. Then again, I’m not really writing about smiling, that just happens to be the name of the song I attached below the credits. I’m not posting the lyrics this time, because they don’t fully speak for me like they often do. My mind is pretty scattered today, actually. I went to the doctor yesterday and I was prescribed two more meds to take along with the others. One of them is a muscle relaxer and I swear I feel down right loopy. So, I’m just leave you with this…hold your head up no matter what’s going on and if you’re too weak to hold your head up, lean on a friend, because there’s a reason to smile waiting around the corner. And if this all sounds like nonsense, then I blame the meds. 😉

Let’s Take Another Selfie!

I have to say that while the duck faces and bathroom mirror selfies are really amusing and tacky. I am grateful for the fact that our smart phones have helped us perfect those self portrait photos. I remember holding cameras up to take pics with friends and hoping for the best, only to find us headless when the photos were finally developed. I remember waiting a week for photos to get developed. It’s amazing how such a simple thing has changed our lives so dramatically. Just think, there are people alive today that know nothing about having to rewind film and dropping it off to have it developed into 4×6 prints…doubles if you were willing to pay extra! Now not only can we take accurate selfies, but we can take pictures of ourselves taking selfies! *giggles*

Therapy Session

So, I don’t write about everything I’m going through, but I do write about a fair bit. Some things are too personal…yes, even I have boundaries. *laughs* I draw my inspiration for words, photos, layouts….from a variety of places. Often it is just a violent mixture of the madness swirling about in my mind, but when my fingers meet the keys and I’m staring at this blank page…somehow I usually find a way to let something out. You see, blogging isn’t a JOB for me. Its a way of life. I’m honored that you’re interested enough to read any of it ever, but I really don’t write for YOU….I write for ME….and I am very well known for having full on arguments out loud with myself.
If all of my sponsors pulled away from me and I was suddenly dismissed from all of my blog manager jobs….none of that would stop me. Actually, my photos would probably take a seriously artistic turn around the corner. I was recently told that I need to be more professional in Second Life. Fuck that. I’m not here to be fake. This is the one place I can be completely free to be me….on every level. I don’t care for your judgement. I was told not to be friends with my bloggers. I’ve been told I’m too mean. I’m too picky. I’m too soft. I’m too nice. I try too hard. I don’t try hard enough. Here’s the thing though…I’m not here to please anyone but me. Call it selfish, fuck you….what are YOU here for? You here to help humanity? No, you’re not. You might do some good while you’re here, but lets face it…we all found our way to broken toys and those of us that actually live here? We know.
So, if you don’t like me, that’s ok…I don’t always like me either. You think I got issues? No, Baby, I got motherfucking subscriptions and my father owns the publication. *gasps* Yeah, I said it….this is MY therapy session and if you don’t like it….uhm….part of me wants to apologize, but how can I be sorry for being me. I got enough people that love me to know, I’m not that bad…but hey, s’ok…I don’t gotta make you happy. That’s your job, isn’t it? I’ll be over here taking care of mine…maybe our worlds will collide…maybe they’ll mingle and make music. For now, this is the end of this therapy session.

Random Run

She was out for a run like any other day. She stopped at the corner market for her bottle of water and a rest when the adorable little puppy wandered up, tongue and tail wagging. She poured some of her water on the ground for the pup and he lapped up before passing out at her feet. He had no tags and he was too cute to leave abandoned in a parking lot. She sighed and rolled her eyes at herself, I don’t have time for a puppy. She carried the pup into the store and asked the clerk if she knew anything about it. The clerk mentioned that the pup had been hanging around for a few days but no one had claimed it or came looking for it. Sady sighed again, left her number with the clerk just in case anyone came looking for the sweet puppy and took it home.
That was six years ago, the Random and Sady have been inseparable ever since.

Soaking Up The Sun

Summer is almost here and that means bikini season! This makes me so freaking happy, because I just love drinking margaritas by the pool and hanging out with friends…half naked friends. Rebel Hope has made some of my favorite bikinis to date and her offering at the Fifth Anniversary of FaMESHed is no exception. Its a fatpack must have! Fortunately, Trompe Loeil also has an amazing pool/patio combo so I don’t have to go far to lounge around in my new bikini!
Of course, these are just more things that I can only do in a virtual world. In the real world, my skin is so fair its translucent. Seriously, you can see my veins. If I spend more than ten minutes in the sun, I’m well on my way to a sunburn. On a rare occasion that sunburn it totally worth it…even if after the burn is gone, I feel like a snake shedding its skin for the following month.

Blue Skies

Although Summer has not officially started, the weather where I live is nice and the pool is open. The beaches are filling up. Its beautiful outside almost every single day. I personally have been dealt with more than my fair share of metaphorically dark clouds and I’ve made the decision to embrace those blue skies and focus on my blessings rather that all the things I could easily consider curses.

For example, I recently found out that someone very close to me fed me a ton of lies, but upon revealing the truths I was reunited with some very dear and wonderful friends from my past. So, I might have lost one friend, but I gained three in return. If that’s not a blessing, I don’t know what is….so bring on the blue skies, cuz that’s all I want to see! *lifts a margarita* Here’s to blue skies for us all! ❤
