Neon lights glisten off the streets The moonlight swallowed up by breathing electricity Salvation hovers in the sky Dream of a life inside while we escape just to survive Let go, take flight Dreams begin to reignite So clear, so bright We’re glowing in the dead of night Plug in, online The data stream linking our minds Circuits entwined We’ll dream of Neo-Tokyo tonight We’re made of flesh, circuit and bone The only world we’ve known, these empty streets we walk alone Salvation blocking out the Sun Beneath its shadow cast I dream with my Aphelion
I’d say its fairly obvious that I’m not into anime or even Asian culture. Though, I do love some Asian cuisine! So, the first time I saw or even heard of a kitsune was in Second Life. Even then, I wasn’t all that interested. I just assumed it was a cute creature from Anime. I was like, “Kitsune…huh?” Eventually, I looked it up! What I found surprised me.
Kitsune in the literal sense is the Japanese word for fox. Foxes are a common subject of Japanese folklore; in English, kitsune refers to them in this context. Stories depict legendary foxes as intelligent beings and as possessing paranormal abilities that increase as they get older and wiser. –Wikipedia
If you keep reading the Wiki page about it, you’ll discover that the more tails it’s more powerful, older, and wiser. So, as you can see by just the little bit of information on the Wiki page, kitsune isn’t an anime thing after all. They are part of Japanese folklore more so than anime. Now, I just feel stupid for always assuming that’s what they were. Just a gentle reminder to do a little research before we go running off at the mouth about things we don’t really know about.
Doing this photo was so fun, we both agree we are full of attitude, from the poses to the styling of our outfits. I’m pretty sure our superpower is shopping and it looks like we are headed off on a girl’s weekend to do just that! Between Maria and I, we were able to showcase the entire Spotlight pack by Blueberry, plus Maria was able to add a few other Blueberry items to demonstrate how well they can enhance one another. She’s brilliant like that. Definitely check out her version, there’s a link at the bottom of the credits. Her version is amazing! ♥
I never should have called ‘Cause I knew you’d leave me But I didn’t think you could do it so easily I never should have held your hand On that cold rainy night ‘Cause, further along, it would cause another fight Stranger, that’s all I see When I look into your eyes A soulmate who wasn’t meant to be Stranger, who knows all my secrets Can pull me apart and break my heart A soulmate who wasn’t meant to be
I’ve seen some rather extreme reactions to the whole name changing thing that’s happening. Some people are saying they will delete anyone with this name or that. Some are telling their friends if they change their names they can’t be friends. I would like to believe that ALL of these people are kidding, but we know that at least one of them isn’t. What has surprised me the most is the amount of hateful judging that’s been happening on social media.
I saw one post that suggested anyone that paid to have their name change was a shitty person, because they could’ve given that money to charity. That kinda set me off, to be honest. I mean, who do you think you are judging everyone that changes their name? Is it YOUR money? No, it most certainly is not. If we’re going to sit here and judge one another for not giving what we can to charity, let’s start with the time he spent writing that post and defending it. He could have spent that time doing something helpful, don’t you think? I personally think someone’s a wee bit upset cuz he can’t change his personality for $40. You can’t know what people do with their real life funds. You don’t know whether or not they give to charity. Not everyone broadcasts every donation they make. I know I don’t.
I get that people think it might be a waste of money or a silly thing to do, especially since we have display names, but you can’t truly know the reasons why people do what they do until you’ve lived their lives. Oh, but you can’t live their lives, can you? No, cuz then it would be your life and you clearly would’ve made difference choices, etc. So, take it easy on each other and remember that now more than ever we need to be supportive. Love one another please…we have enough hatred in the world already, there will never be too much love. ♥
I wrote about consistency in my blog a while back and I’m not sure I will ever have that consistency that makes me recognize my work, but I sure am having fun. I waited far too long to play around in Photoshop and now that I’m there, I’m discovering so many new things. I’d like to think that as long as I’m alive I will embrace learning new things. I might not always like change, but that’s how we grow, isn’t it? Things in the real world have certainly changed quite a bit and I’ll admit I’m scared. I have too many friends with auto immune diseases, not to mention other things like asthma, kidney disease, etc. I hope that everyone is doing their part to flatten the curve. I joke about how I’ve been social distancing for years, but this is actually quite serious. I guess I’m lucky that I rarely leave my house anyway, but others are not quite so blessed. There are so many out there that simply do not have the option of staying home. Please be mindful of one another during this time. It seems we will all have to grow from this. ♥

When I was growing up I was told the same fairy tales that most of us heard. You knw the ones where some princess or beautiful maiden needed to be rescued? Then magically some handsome prince would come along, save the girl, and they would live happily ever after. I don’t remember any of the fairy tales being about a woman saving a man or saving another woman, much less saving herself. I grew up waiting for some man to come along and save me from the one man I should have been able to trust the most. It never happened. Looking back now, I wish I had been taught that women are amazingly strong creatures and fully capable of rescuing themselves, as well as helping each other. Instead, I was taught that women were out to get each other and that only a man…a handsome prince, usually, could come save the day.
One thing is for sure, it has been women that rescued me far more often than any man. I’m not hating on men, mind you. I’m simply trying to say that women don’t need to depend on any man to fix things. I’d rather see women supporting and encouraging one another, lifting each other up, to show the world that we are not just capable of greatness, but we are made for it! Let’s work on saving ourselves!
