Believe in something…live for something…don’t just exist.

It’s difficult to admit that I’ve allowed myself to slip so far down the rabbit hole that I don’t even recognize myself anymore. That I let life get the better of me and relinquished my terms completely. All of my boundaries faded away as I shriveled down into myself. Then I had a conversation with an old friend that really made me think. She suggested that I must have something to look forward to…something to live for…and I couldn’t think of a single one. So, more than a resolution…this is a goal. This year, I will believe in something…might just be that my cat is an asshole, but I will believe in something. I will live for something…not someone…something else…something that’s mine. From there, perhaps I can work on a list other smaller goals I have set for myself. That’s the goal anyway. Okay, so I will admit that I was enjoying some mighty fine herbal mood enhancements and listening to Devil Blues – Come Fly With Me, when the thought occurred to me. Some days I think I’d be better off hanging out with rats than most of the men I meet. I realize I’m no spring chicken in her 20s or even 30s, but the caliber of male personalities in Second Life is severely lacking. It’s no damn wonder women have thrown in the good girl towel and started going for what they need, rather than what they want. Men have been doing it for centuries, but let a woman go seek some self-gratification with a stranger and she gets herself a reputation. To hell with that, these days even the one night stand is likely to disappoint.
I’d love to see some of the men in SL put a bit more effort into courting a woman. Then again, why should they? If they wait long enough, they’ll be surrounded by thirsty sluts, hungry whores, and desperate housewives begging for it. See? I just did it myself, labeled batches of women with bad names. To hell with that! I say if you’re thirsty, get you a drink! If you’re hungry, grab a meal! If you’re desperate…uhm, yeah, maybe see a therapist? I don’t think that’s a healthy attitude to have when making decisions about sex. In the meantime, learn to take care of your own needs. We all know how. We’ve all done it and there’s certainly no harm in that…unless you nasty. So, don’t be nasty.
Yes, I am rambling, just letting my mind go where it wants. I have been up all night and I’ve thought about what to write and this is where I landed. There’s some super cute stuff out there, right now….so go shopping! I’m wishing you all a day filled with love & laughter. ♥

Suicide Test

My real life is a freaking mess and certainly not what I had hoped it would be by my age. However, if I don’t give thanks for the little things, I simply wouldn’t be able to pull myself from the edge of suicide. It sounds severe and dramatic, but I assure you that its something I think about regularly. AND from the age of 12 until I was 22, I was attempted it regularly. Clearly, I failed at that like so many things in my life. It was my last attempt that changed everything. I was lying in the ICU, barely conscious when I had an epiphany for what I now call my Suicide Test. I have yet to pass this test, therefore, I have not been able to attempt suicide again since.
It’s quite simple actually. It’s a 30 day test, so patience is key, but if you’re planning to die, what’s 30 more days, yeah? So, look at the clock. For me, its 9:19pm on Sept 19. Now, if I do not find a single moment of joy between now and 9:19pm on Oct 19th, I can proced with my suicide attempt. However, you have to understand the true nature of joy and what all that entails. That means you must want to die for every second of ever minute of every hour of every day for 30 days straight. That means you cannot enjoy a single moment of your life for even a second or the clock starts over. So, if a meme makes you laugh or even smile or silently chuckle. Clock restarts. You tasted something wonderful and thought to yourself how good that was? Clock restarts. You stepped in the shower and exhaled with relief as that hot water poured over you. Clock restarts.
You see, if you had killed yourself upon that first notion, you would have missed that simple moment of joy. If you would have missed something as simple as a cluster of butterflies dancing over your head, then you surely would have missed the smile you bring to other people’s faces. And let’s face it, no matter how awful you think your life is…you make someone smile and someone loves you.

Get Her Head Right

She was really looking forward to a night out with the girls. It had been so long since they’d all hung out without boyfriends and being the only single one in the group…this was definitely a rare opportunity for her. She got herself dressed super cute, with one of her shortest off the shoulder dresses and her newest pair of thigh high boots. She was almost ready. She just needed to get her head right.
She found the small trinket box in the bottom drawer of her armoire and pulled out a blunt. She pulled it under her nose like a fancy gent would smell a proper Cuban cigar. She lit and took a deep hit. She closes her eyes as she let the THC wash over her and immediately take her mind on that nice little floating coaster that only begins to settle over her like a warm fog when she exhales slowly. Vanilla

When I first came into Second Life, back in 2006, I was officially introduced to the Master tag and the entire D/s world. Prior to that, I knew there were fetishes and that people were into bdsm. However, I thought those were just kinks and fetishes. I had no idea they were lifestyles. Over time, I learned the differences between all types of subs and Dom/mes. For the longest time, you really couldn’t go anywhere without seeing some dude wearing a Master tag and a black cape. Now the trend seems to be more focused on Daddy Doms and BabyGirls, or perhaps that’s just where my path has led. However, based on some of the things I see on Facebook, I’m prone to think that those that are not into the bdsm lifestyle are somehow seen as boring. In fact, the term used for those that are not into bdsm is Vanilla. As if to say that Vanilla is a boring flavor.
The truth is, that vanilla is a build block flavor that is in more recipes than most people would realize. The same can be said about sex. I think its funny that so many people in the bdsm community fuss at one another for kinky shaming, as there are some rather extreme kinks out there. Yet, no one really stands up and says, “Ya know what? It’s okay to be Vanilla! It’s ok not to like dirty talk or toys or whips & chains.” There is nothing wrong with Vanilla.
In fact, I’ll take a Vanilla latte over one of those silly pumpkin spice lattes any day! Plus, you can take vanilla ice cream and add stuff to that to make it spectacular. Okay, I’m getting off track and now I want ice cream. Go shopping! I’m going to the kitchen!

Self-Righteous Perception

Every so often I come across songs that I think apply to the majority of us in SL and this is one of them. Take a minute, if you will, just read the lyrics before you click on the title link to actually hear the song. Even if you’re familiar with the song already…try to read the words more like a poem…let them sink in. For me, this type of philosophical, metaphoric poetry says more than any one person that even begins to suggest what is right for your life when they barely know you at all. We learn more about ourselves and our truths by looking inward with a mirror made of jagged edges, than we will ever learn from someone else’s self-righteous perception.

How many of us truly belong in karma or some sort of divine justice? We’ve all heard people say, “there’s a special place in hell for people like that.” Some of us have even thought it or said it ourselves. So, while we sit in judgement of others, regardless of their offense, how many of us want the karma or divine justice we deserve? How many of us have taken a friend or lover down with us?
I think that its far too easy and convenient to point the fingers at others. I think that most of us revel in the crimes of the obscene, for it relieves us of some of the guilt we carry within our hearts. However, what if there’s a special place in hell for people like us? Does karma just skip the little stuff? Just food for thought.
