Many years ago, I learned how to let go of people, places, and things. To release my attachment to them no matter how deep the connection. If these things were toxic to me or other people in general, I had to let go. I can’t sit here and pretend like I have somehow perfected this act of release. However, thanks to being an Army brat, letting go of people and places has been a lot easier for me than most.. It’s important that we recognize the not so good stuff in our lives and learn how to wash it away.
In Second Life, that’s a much easier thing to do. Simply block and mute, done. So, what you come across a blocked avatar from time to time. If you feel the need to explain do it, but don’t attack them. You really have no right to point fingers and place blame on them. The best way to go about it is to simply tell them, that for whatever reason you don’t mesh well and you don’t like the person you become around them. Because at the end of the day, isn’t that what it’s all about? I don’t like how someone, something, or somewhere makes me feel…so I remove myself from said person, place, or thing as soon as possible. While it seems like common sense, it also seems to be damn near impossible for some people. I can talk about this topic all day, so if you need help figuring out how to let go, I’m happy to chat about it. Otherwise, I encourage you to do some mental spring cleaning and wash it all away.
