Get Out There

Yesterday, I wrote about how gowns have changed over the yeas and I have to say there are so many beautiful gowns on the grid these days, I find myself feeling a bit like a princess and looking for excuses to go dancing at formal events. Luckily, there are no shortage of formal places. My favorite venues these days, believe it or not, have become those that sponsor live music. For instance, the amazing AleyKat (not to be confused with anyone else with a similar name) sings at a lovely formal venue most Fridays.  If you’ve never heard her, I urge you to look her up and catch one of her shows. She is simply amazing and depending on the venue her songs can be romantic and sweet…or fun and funky. Her funky, casual shows are always a blast and her more romantic shows are pure magic. Either way, I cannot recommend her enough. In fact, she’ll be singing at Templemore, Friday, May 12 at 5pm slt. Not only is this going to be an incredible show, this venue is hands down gorgeous! Dress up or dress down, but be prepared for an amazing show either way, as they have quite a line up. So, I recommend you get out there and enjoy some of the fine, amazing talent on the grid.

Leaving it Behind

Moving on is sometimes the absolute hardest thing to do. Leaving people, places, pets, things, habits…we get attached and for me it always rips at my soul. Sometimes we do the leaving, sometimes we’re the ones being left…but both scenarios can be equally heartbreaking. As 2016 is coming to a close, there are a lot of things I’m walking away from and I refuse to keep looking back. It has been a year of great loss, shock, change, and dismay. I’m ready to leave it all behind, especially the negative emotions that accompanied it. I’ve packed my bags with all the good stuff and to the rest, I bid you farewell.

I’ve shed more than my share of tears for loss this past year. I’ve been blessed with some amazing people in this incredible virtual world. While I’ve had to walk away from quite a few and some walked away from me, the number of truly incredible people that have become such an integral part of my Second Life is astounding. I cannot remember having so many friends in SL that I cannot possibly keep up with everything they’re doing as well as my own life. I love it, though.

As I march forward into the new year, I plan to do my best at keeping up with those that want to be an active part of my life. I plan to embrace what’s left of my real life and to truly make my mark. Determination and desire, those are my words as I look forward.
And as I look back one final time to all that I’m leaving behind…well, I’m shedding my last tears. I know that 2017 will have its share of heartaches, but I have a feeling that there’s an abundance of blessings waiting and I’m hoping to share them all with my friends and family.

My Wish

Tis the season to be hopeful, despite it all, right? Its been a wild year, I think we can all atest to that, but we have the power within ourselves to make 2017 a better year. I wish it for us all, because 2016 has been one helluva doozy! So, while people are making their Christmas wish lists and deciding on which resolutions they’re going to make and break, I’m resolving to improve my life on various levels and I’m wishing a better year for us all!

And based on the way the last few days have gone, with the exception of one psycho neighbor in RL, I believe…I believe we can all have a better year. To get you started, Cynful is about to release the accurately named Wish Dress and she’s created a matching necklace that can be purchased separately…it will be coming your way at the next Collabor88. This dress is wish come true, cuz I can’t think of a sexier dress to wear as I celebrate the holidays. Just so happens that Reign has these adorable Glitteratii heels that are a perfect accidental match!

Wishes

wishesFriends of mine, and even associates, will often find me wishing them a day filled with love and laughter on special days. I’ve had some accuse me of insincerity and generic statements. I find it sad that their hearts are so filled with cynicism that they could question something so seemingly innocent. I assure you that I mean it each and every time I say it. A day filled with love and laughter is a good day. Don’t we all deserve a good day? Especially on special occasions, like birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations of any kind.
I wish everyone days upon days filled with love and laughter. I wish the world a positive loving attitude. I wish the world, including myself, love. I wish…

Sady and the City

I realize I have already blogged about Elysium City of Templemore, but if you’ve been there you understand my enthusiasm and if you haven’t you should go soon. After only one visit you will surely share my excitement. As my dear friend, Grace Sixpence, so eloquently put it, “OMG! Everytime I’m here, I discover something new!” The same has been true for me. There is so much to see and explore, you could spend hours there and still discover something new. As if the scenery isn’t enough to draw you in…they present some of the absolute best live musicians on the grid quite regularly. A great way to keep up with what’s going on is to like the official Elysium City of Templemore Facebook page.

After shopping at Shiny Shabby, I knew exactly where I wanted to take my photos to present some of my latest finds. What I didn’t know is that I’d run into some of my good friends that were already there exploring or that I’d discover two new spots to shoot my photos. Okay, I actually discovered four, but only used two for this post. *giggles*

Sady and the City

I could gush on and on about this location, but I really want to encourage you to go check it out for yourself. Its truly beautiful and I am so grateful for all the hard work that went into it. I’m especially grateful that the owners have such a generous spirit and are willing to share this amazing paradise. It proves the quote by Walt Whitman, because this city is truly founded and fueled by great people.
