I think its important to remember that we are blessed. Yes, this world is a mess right now, but if you’re reading this it means you have the internet. While it might seem like a necessity, it is actually a luxury that many people do not have for a variety of reasons. It really is a good idea to take stock of our lives and the count the various blessings that surround us. The simplest of things can be taken away in a flash. The roof over our heads, the food in our bellies, the friends that we reach out to…all these things could be gone in a flash. So, while the world’s troubles weigh heavy on all of our hearts, let us also remember to be grateful. ♥
My aunt used to have this old farmhouse. It had been in her family for many many years. It wasn’t the most beautiful to look at from the outside, but once you were inside you knew that you were in a house made of love. There was also an amazing greenhouse attached to a perfect country kitchen. I loved visiting her and having coffee amidst all the greenery. If I was really lucky, it would rain while I was there. THAT was amazing. Of course, it had to be a light rain. Okay, so it only happened once in all the years I visited, but it was the perfect spring rain. The pitter patter of the water falling on the panels of the build that my uncle had so lovingly constructed was absolute heaven.
This is truly one of my favorite memories of my aunt and uncle. I loved visiting them for a weekend here and there. My uncle passed away about ten years ago. Since then, my aunt sold that house and moved to a suburb, but I will always remember sitting in that greenhouse with coffee as the sun came up.

“Each of us must confront our own fears, must come face to face with them. How we handle our fears will determine where we go with the rest of our lives. To experience adventure or to be limited by the fear of it.”

Okay, this is hands down my favorite of the Prism Events events! Every year, they put together the most amazing event for the month of October. The set up of the event itself is pretty epic. The designers that participate pull out all the stops. Some people say that Christmas is the most magical time of the year, but lets be serious. Halloween is the really magic time! The event will open on Saturday, September 28 and run until Thursday, October 31. If you like Halloween or the supernatural even a little bit, this is an event you do not want to miss. Seriously, at the very least, you’ve got to check out the sim and explore. You won’t regret it!!

I grew up watching these commercials about Calgon and hearing these exhausted women beg Calgon to take them away. Then you would see them whisked away to some beautiful fantasy world of waterfalls and forest streams and beaches….all sorts of fantastic scenes. I begged my mother for some Calgon, so she got it….it didn’t take me anywhere! Can you believe that? *giggles*
I really don’t know what I thought was going to happen, but I do know that I believed I would be transported. I’m sure I watched far too many episodes of Fantasy Island around the same time and a big FU to you youngins who don’t know what Fantasy Island is…lol.
When I first came into Second Life, back in 2006, I was officially introduced to the Master tag and the entire D/s world. Prior to that, I knew there were fetishes and that people were into bdsm. However, I thought those were just kinks and fetishes. I had no idea they were lifestyles. Over time, I learned the differences between all types of subs and Dom/mes. For the longest time, you really couldn’t go anywhere without seeing some dude wearing a Master tag and a black cape. Now the trend seems to be more focused on Daddy Doms and BabyGirls, or perhaps that’s just where my path has led. However, based on some of the things I see on Facebook, I’m prone to think that those that are not into the bdsm lifestyle are somehow seen as boring. In fact, the term used for those that are not into bdsm is Vanilla. As if to say that Vanilla is a boring flavor.
The truth is, that vanilla is a build block flavor that is in more recipes than most people would realize. The same can be said about sex. I think its funny that so many people in the bdsm community fuss at one another for kinky shaming, as there are some rather extreme kinks out there. Yet, no one really stands up and says, “Ya know what? It’s okay to be Vanilla! It’s ok not to like dirty talk or toys or whips & chains.” There is nothing wrong with Vanilla.
In fact, I’ll take a Vanilla latte over one of those silly pumpkin spice lattes any day! Plus, you can take vanilla ice cream and add stuff to that to make it spectacular. Okay, I’m getting off track and now I want ice cream. Go shopping! I’m going to the kitchen!

Before my real life shifted and I began withdrawing from the world around me, I was quite social in real life. I loved hosting dinner parties and I was oddly fortunate enough to have too many friends to invite to every single one. I would set the table as elaborately as I could and there was always dessert. After dinner, we would sit around and play games, usually something that I made up. Sometimes I miss those days, but there’s really no reason why we can have dinner parties in Second Life. So, there might not be real food, but we can sit around a table with some wine or whatever you drink, have great conversations, then play some games. Virtual living really is amazing when you think about it.
Thanks to amazing designers like Fancy Decor and all the others listed below, we can live life to the fullest from behind our keyboards. With all of the amazing creations for home decor, with just a little money, you can live the life of your dreams here and that’s just one more reason I love SL. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Happy Shopping!♥

Saturday night to the shock of many of my friends, I went to see the movie IT! Before we go further, let me explain in the quickest way possible. I hate clowns and its not just some phobia that I don’t understand. I was attacked by a man in a clown suit, oddly enough, 27yrs ago this month. It was right before my 21st birthday and no, I had not seen the movie. I didn’t think of the math until I came home from the movies Saturday night and realized, “OMG! How weird is that? The whole 27yr thing!” I had seen the 1st one on VHS in 1997 after the attack at the insistence of my so called friends. There were tons of drugs involved and I don’t remember anything about it. Anyway, so you can imagine why I hate clowns.
So, yeah, saw the movie and it was quite frightening, which says a lot because I can’t remember the last time a horror movie actually scared me. I was quite shaken afterwards and really thought, “That was a mistake!” I had nightmares all night Saturday night, waking myself up by screaming, “NO! NO! NOOOO!” at least four times. The last one I remember, I woke myself up screaming, “STOP IT! JUST STOP IT!” I woke up feeling exhausted and shaken to the core. I haven’t had that many clown dreams in one night for many many years. As the day progressed, I realized that none of my nightmares had been about my attack. Instead, all the nightmares were about Pennywise and by the time I got to that fifth one, he had become more of an annoyance than an actual monster. Now, I can honestly say that I’m glad I saw it and I feel like I have possibly beaten my severe fear of clowns. I doubt I’ll ever like them, but they certainly won’t be dictating my life anymore.
I realize the title and picture don’t quite go with the theme of the movie IT, but its really about more than that. Its about dreams in general and how they truly can reveal so much about our lives. I also feel like I’ve emerged from a very dark place with my history of coulrophobia. I’m certainly looking forward to brighter things AND dreams ahead.
Ha! Its not what you think! This is just a decor post, so calm your tits!
I suppose its a bit taboo to mix modern furnishings with retro or shabby chic types of decor, but something about it appeals to me. Perhaps its the idea that its frowned upon by some and well, I like to do what I want. So, that’s exactly what I did. I took the gorgeous Hetton Barn Conversion from Apple Fall and filled it with modern and aged furniture from Fancy Decor and a few other places. Nothing says home like a few animals, so naturally I provided a loving space to two beagle ups to run free.
I didn’t write a story for this post, because again…I do what I want and there’s no rules on my blog except the ones I enter with the stores I blog for and mostly that’s whether or not I show nudity with their products and/or how many items. So, what I write, how I write…pretty sure that remains up to me. *grins* I do prefer writing the stories, to be honest, but this time, I just wanted to talk about my picture. *nods*
