Meditation and Serenity

It’s no secret that I’ve been in therapy for a while now and I can honestly say that it is making a huge difference. However, one of the suggestions my therapist has made was to find a perfect spot for meditation. If I had the space available in real life, I’d like to imagine that it would be a beautiful serene spot very much like this one. Unfortunately, this is one of those things that simply isn’t quite feasible for me to do in real life. I have a very lovely living room that is hardly used, but I can’t lock the cat and dog out, nor can I leave nice things lying around as Mr Mayhem will surely make it his mission to destroy them. No, he’s not the dog. He’s the asshole I call a cat. The only thing that Zoey destroys are plushies and food. *laughs*

Taking some time

For the first time in almost four years of blogging (March will be 4yrs) I have requested a vacation from about half the brands that I officially blog. I chose them carefully, as they had deadlines and/or their rules are a bit more strict about how they want their items showcased. I have no issue with any of that, of course, but I want to take a few weeks to relax and learn. My very handsome nephew, Trylan aka Trouble Dethly, has promised to teach me some tricks in photoshop…as have a few other amazing bloggers and family members.
Hopefully, you’ll see some improvements in my photos and when I completely return to my full time blogging, I will have a brand new approach to my pictures. It’s time for me to take a step back, relax, regroup, and rededicate myself to my craft. I absolutely love blogging and I won’t be stopping at all, but I am going to slow it down. When all is said and done, I may decide to cut back…who knows? I might finally commit to a genre or a style…*gasps*…yeah, don’t hold your breath on that one. I’m looking forward to spending some productive and entertaining moments with members of my SL family…with my blogger friends…as well as my other friends. I’m going to focus less on being lonely and more on being fulfilled.

A Warning

Sometimes I think that people like me should come with a warning. I mean, in my mind there are walls and barbed wire all around my heart, but there are no signs. I never considered it until just now. I was wandering around Autumn Trace when I saw this little shack and thought how truly poetic it was to have stumbled across this little shack in the swamp. I identify so deeply with this entire sim. It feels very much like wandering about in my mind.

A joyful stroll

It is so important that we enjoy the little things in our lives, just as we enjoy the milestones and major events.  With the right attitude, we can find as much joy in a leisurely stroll down main street with our fur baby and a good drink, as we can going out on a Friday night with our friends. We simply need to take the time to really observe the beauty around us. A sidewalk sale might offer something that triggers a happy memory. A child’s laughter and excitement at being able to pet my dog could truly lift my spirit. Oh sure, I have clean up behind my pup, and carry that bag of poop until I find a trash bin, but I feel good about doing the right thing. I feel good about taking care of my pup and I feel good for showing respect to the city I live in. We never know what simply joys await us if we simply welcome positive experiences and reject the negative.

When I did this photo I was thinking a sexy ass bank robber, cuz its a costume and its freaking cute. You should definitely check out this gacha from Reign. So many sexy but not slutty costumes just waiting for you. Of course, once I was done with the photo, I couldn’t help but think about a stripper and the whole making it rain thing. Instantly I was off and running to YouTube to find just the right song. First I found one from Cardi B that just made me roll my eyes. I have no clue how that woman became famous. To me she looks like a combination of Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj, but lacks the talent of either later. I don’t like her and I don’t get the hype. Needless to say, I kept looking and then there it was…Pink Floyd. I mean is there really anything sexier than a girl dancing to classic rock? I think NOT and since its MY blog, my opinion is the only one that matters here. *grins*

My favorite time of year

My favorite time of year is just around the corner. For some it is already showing its beautiful autumn head. Alas, for me, I am still battling 97°F/36°C temperatures and patiently waiting for the official end of Summer. Fall/Autumn is hands down my favorite season of the year. All my favorite things happen. My birthday and Halloween…so basically October! Thanksgiving…the holiday based on some lies, but has become a more positive holiday even as the truth is unveiled. Most of us find it a time to count our blessings and be grateful, so I like it. Plus its the absolute #1 most gluttonous holiday on the planet and anyone that knows me, knows how much I love good food! I know most people think of Christmas as Winter and technically it is, but its usually more like Fall where I live. It rarely drops into true Winter temps until January, for me.
Fall is the one time of year that I actually enjoy being outside…usually. I’m not much for leaving my house, but something about the smell of fireplaces and cool breezes….leaves changing colors and eventually falling. Well, I just love it, okay? It’s no different in Second Life, really. Some of my favorite sims like Scarlett Isle will most likely transition to a more Fall feeling and you will discover that I take a lot more photos outside. I am really looking forward to it this year more than I have in the last few years. So, raise whatever your favorite fall drink is and cheers to Fall…unless you’re drinking one of those pumpkin lattes…*laughs*
