The other day I posted a blog asking my readers for topics for me to write about. I presented them the opportunity to challenge me with questions or random topics. I got a few responses and as promised, I’m going to use the topics and/or answer the questions, one way or another. So, one of my absolute best friends, Troy Nelson, posed the question, “Why are you so interested in serial killers?”
I’m not exactly sure why I’m so fascinated with them. The only plausible reason I can come up with is that as a child of the 70s, they were constantly in the news. Serial killers were the boogeyman and I wasn’t afraid of them. I was curious. I’m still curious. What makes them tick. What happened to them as children that they turned out that way. As I studied the most common profiles, I figured out that my father could have just as easily have become a serial killer. Then again, I suppose he still could be one, he’s just not been caught. I swear I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised. I suppose I’ve just always had a morbid curiosity for things that most children my age didn’t. I was far more curious about the devil than I was Jesus and I was far more interested in serial killers that super heroes. To answer Troy’s question….I don’t know, I just am.
Today we’re taking a teensy little field trip! C’mon, let’s go to Picturerotica! That’s right, you read that correctly and if you click the name below, you’ll get the slurl! This is a brand new sim that just had their grand opening on November 17! Here’s the land description: An adult play sim dedicated to providing a picture perfect setting for all of your romantic and erotic experiences. 18+
Now, I warn you to use caution when sitting on anything, because as Nakari has said, ” If you can sit on it you can cum on it.” Now, don’t get your pretty little mesh panties twisted, unless you’re into that. Yes, you can have sex in the open here. Yes, you can get naked. But let me tell you, this place has been landscaped to the nines. It is gorgeous! They have events like Furry night (no its not specifically a furry sim, all are welcome) and live music, as well as DJs. There is also a group fee, so if you’re aiming to take photos and need to rez a stand or anything, you’ll need to join the group for L$150, just make sure you pick up after yourself, yeah?
I can’t help it, but this picture just gets a song stuck in my head. So, I feel as though I must share the ear worm with my readers, just in case you didn’t have the same idea. There’s just this one line from the song that comes to mind the minute I see this picture and now the song is stuck in my head and has been ever since. So, here goes….Paradise by the Dashboard Lights by Meatloaf. I’m not linking the lyrics, cuz c’mon, surely y’all know this song by now! I did put the part of the song that’s been stuck in my head under the picture though.
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” ~Alice Walker
Such a simple statement, yet filled to the brim with truth. We often refuse our own power whether surrender to others for emotional gratification or pointing fingers to place the blame for our predicaments. The truth is we have a hand in everything that happens to us. Perhaps not in the actual events, but certainly we are responsible for how we move forward. The victim of a crime is only a victim for as long as the crime is happening. Afterwards, there is a choice…survive or surrender. Use the power within ourselves to overcome what has happened or surrender to the fear, pain, and memories of it all. Power…really is a choice, isn’t it?
Like most bloggers, I’m a multitasker. Often times while I’m in blog mode, I’m watching a movie or a show. This particular night I was up far later than usual and had stumbled across a great copy of 40 Meters Below. Now, I’m not a huge advocate for watching illegal copies of movies, but let’s face it..most of us have at one point or another. So, I’m guilty and I admit it. However, I can honestly say that this movie was amazing and incredibly intense. Especially while working on a photo of my avatar under water and wrestling to get the pose set just right with these tentacles. I’m not sure which one was more intense because of the other, but either way…just wow! Either way it was a fun and exciting night!
Once upon a time there was a girl that saw nothing but drama on Facebook all day long. She hated seeing people she cared about at each other’s throats and desperately wanted everyone to get along. She watched insults being flung about carelessly and it made her sad. She knew she was powerless against all the hate and anger. She knew that getting involved or tossing in her two cents would only make things worse. Instead, she decided to close the window and spend more time with herself. She’s never understand why people who clearly didn’t like one another would spend so much time and energy spreading hate. She had enough problems and much bigger ones than picking people apart. She was much happier in her little blogger bubble, decorating and playing dress up. She remembered why she had begun to isolate herself and sighed gratefully for the close friends that she had. As she went to bed that night, she burned her sage wand to rid herself of the day’s negativity and sending love out into the world, hoping that today would be a better day not just for her, but for everyone.
She had come in early to do some rehearsing. Just as she sat down to text her room mate about tonight’s show, she saw him in the doorway, “Come back when we open, unless you just want a drink. The bar out front is open, but its dancers only back here for now.”
He just smiled and nodded, but didn’t turn around. She gave him a curious glance as he was quite handsome and not the type she usually saw in the club. Leaning back, she crossed her long lean legs and bit her lip as she watched him watching her.
“You like what you see, Mister?” she cooed as she set her phone down to give him her undivided attention.
Again, he simply smiled and nodded. She really didn’t like games and decided she wasn’t going to play. She picked up her phone and pretended to text. Looking up she could see he was still standing there, “Look, Mister, really, just come back when we’re open if you want a show.” She went back to looking at her phone and sent the nonsense text to her room mate. She’d explain later. When she looked up again, he was gone. She smiled to herself while secretly hoping to see him again.

Her sister and her chickens. She couldn’t believe that her nephew couldn’t spell “chicken” or “for.” She sighed and leaned against the chicken coop. Her sister was going to owe her one helluva a favor for this. She felt like a dumb hick waiting to sell chickens or fresh eggs to people that just drive up. There wasn’t even a decent signal to amuse herself with her phone. She thought about the Angry Birds game and chuckled to herself as she wondered how far she could throw a chicken. It was just then she noticed that two of the chickens seemed to be looking at the sign as if they were reading it. She laughed to herself, “Chicken can’t read, right?”
She loved her grandfather’s pickup truck. It was filled with memories and her sentimentality wouldn’t allow her to stop driving it. Sadly, that meant a lot of breakdowns as the truck was older than she was. As she sat waiting for her ride to the party she watched all the new shiny cars passing on the street. She contemplated getting a new car, but she couldn’t justify the price of a new car. Not to mention that nothing would compare to her Gramps’ truck…nothing. She had repainted it. She kept the maintenance up and had kept it running…for the most part. She was not ready to let it go and turn her back on Gramps’ legacy.
