My People

Today is my birthday and despite my age (don’t ask), I’m excited. No matter how bad things get, I love my birthday. I suppose its a matter of conditioning. I’m an only child and my birthday was always a big deal. My mother always baked a cake and made a big meal, whatever I wanted. So, I have lots going on today, but I want to express my gratitude.
Days like today, I truly feel blessed. I have the most wonderful group of friends in Second Life. More than I am entitled to, I can assure you. I hear about how people stab each other in the back all the time and it breaks my heart. While I have some friends that are as fake as a three dollar bill, even my fake friends aren’t bad people. But I have some of the truest friends anyone could ever hope for and those are MY people. They are the ones that know the real me, what I’m capable of…they know my heart. I cannot begin to thank those people enough. I am so very grateful for all of my friends, even the fake ones, because each of them offers me a lesson in love, trust, and integrity. So, I won’t wait until Thanksgiving for this…I will show my gratitude today, so if you are one of my friends I thank you from the bottom of my heart.♥
