Just Rambling

Well, Flickr is being an official pain in the arse. I think most bloggers are on edge as Flickr maintenance is really affecting our stats. In the meantime, we still have deadlines to meet and gorgeous items to blog. Flickr will not hold us back, not for long. We’ll find a way to promote our blogs on one form of media or another. In fact, now is the perfect time to look at some of the alternatives other bloggers use, like Instagram. I don’t use it much and I’m pretty traditional with what I do use. Blah blah…I’m just rambling this morning, cuz I don’t feel great and I have lots to do. So, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get some fierce shopping done.

  • The blogger managers and the Designers need to be understanding about this. At least some of my Sponsors have acknowledged that Flickr is a problem right now and that they will accept just the blog posts so that we can move forward with our work.

    • I have yet to run into a blogger manager or a designer that doesn’t understand what’s going on. For me, its about more than that. As a blogger manager, myself, I’m not giving any of my bloggers a hard time about Flickr. It’s just aggravating for me personally that my work is not getting the attention that it normally gets. It feels like someone paused my blogger life and I don’t like it! lol

      • Ah, I see, and I know what you mean! Flickr has just started to work for me now, but it is SO slow it’s driving me nutz. I’ll go back later on and see if it’s improved as I only managed to add around 30 groups so far.

  • Funnily as much as Flickr is a requirement I’ve found in my blog that referrals are very rare from Flickr. They come mostly from Facebook and youtube. Weirdly google as well.Instagram I don’t see as a blog promoter, but it’s great for connections and networking. Tumblr I’m iffy about. It’s ok but it is not really for virtual bloggers I don’t think. Flickr again I’ve noticed has had absolutely no bearing on my blog stats during its downtime.. So I’m wondering about its value now.
It’s value to me has only ever been a storage facility. I mainly use their phone app and that is sucking still. Who wants to sit at a pc clicking adding to groups? Not me. It’s way easier to sit on my sofa watching a film doing that part.
