When you surround yourself with loving, inspiring people, you cannot help but feel that love and to be inspired. The more time you spend with positive, inspirational individuals the more you evolve in a similar direction. The same is true of negativity and hate. That doesn’t mean, that we copy one another or try to beat one another. It means let us inspire one another to be motivated. There’s no reason to waste all that energy on hate or competition. Be the best that you can be and inspires others to do the same.
It’s become so easy to sit around and complain about all the things we hate. However, if we turn that energy around and instead of looking at the things we dislike, we take a mental inventory of all the blessings surrounding us. If you are reading this, you are using the internet. That, in and of itself, is a blessing. There’s no internet guarantees in life. It’s just as easy to look for the positive as it is to find the negative, but it comes down to the choices you make.
I write this as much for myself as I do anyone else, because I’ve been trained to find the bad in life. As far back as I can remember, my parents were telling me what was wrong with me, what was wrong with what I’d done, and expecting me to fail. At this point in my life, I can’t really blame them anymore. I’ve been a grown ass adult far longer than I was a child, but I’ve not always surrounded myself with positive people. I do know from experience that not only does surrounding yourself with positive people tend to make you more positive, but it can improve your mental health. I’m not suggesting it will cure a mental illness, but it can help. Being positive certainly doesn’t hurt.
