Music Speaks

I have a tendency to overthink things. If something is wrong with one of my friends and they don’t want to talk about it….or at least not with me or not right now? I will run the gambit with thoughts about what could be bothering them and whether or not I am to blame. I want to fix it. I want to make it better. As I’m sure some of my friends often want to do with me. Let someone sling mud about me or at me, that will be stuck in my head for ages. I will go back and forth questioning whether I deserved that or not. I’ll wonder if I should apologize or just wash my hands of the whole ordeal.
I started this blog almost three years ago. I started it strictly for the therapeutic value. I saw it working wonders in Kess’ life and I was going through one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to deal with. She knew it and despite the blog therapy, I’m still dealing with that same real life bullshit that got me started, but I’m a lot closer to the end of that and the beginning of a new chapter. So, my blog has been about me expressing myself through words and photos, but I find myself quoting songs or just listing the entire lyrics quite a bit. I struggle with doing that, because so often I do feel as though its a bit of a cop out. However, there are times that music is what inspired a photo or when a song expresses everything I’m feeling in a far better way than I could. I apologized for that several times last year, but I had readers that told me they understood it. I even had readers tell me that I introduced them to music they had never heard before. So, this year, I will make no apologies for how I express myself in MY blog. Oddly enough, there’s no song for this post….*laughs*…but there will surely be one in an upcoming blog, cuz I might have already gotten it ready. *winks*
