Pretty Promises

He promised he’d never leave
Yet, now I’m alone
I sit in the dark with my memoies
When I was young, I was so wild and free
Yet, now I’m alone
I sit in the dark with my memoies
When I was young, I was so wild and free
Now I’m locked in my head
Staring at you standing in the door
Telling me you don’t love me anymore
There’s only pieces of me left
Staring at you standing in the door
Telling me you don’t love me anymore
There’s only pieces of me left
Tucked away in a box
Like some antique photograph
Trinkets from what used to be
Like some antique photograph
Trinkets from what used to be
I can shine for a little while
Flashing my pretty little smile
Sometimes I stumble across myself
The me I was before you
The me worth loving
Before I’m smacked with the truth
That everybody leaves
Vows are pretty promises
Made to be broken
Like aged and brittle bones
